Hosted by Geelong Jazz & Blues Festival
About the Festival
In 2022, Felix Blatt organised "Geelong Jazz Day". A one-day mini-festival in Geelong's Little Malop Street entertainment precinct. It was a celebration of jazz music in all its forms and was hugely successful. He did it again in 2023. The public response to the Jazz Days clearly showed Geelong audiences were keen for more, and in conjunction with Peter Milley, planning began for a two day festival. Sadly, Peter passed away before seeing the fruits of his effort.
In late 2024, Felix enlisted the support of the Geelong Jazz Club, the Sleepy Hollow Blues Club and Piano Bar and Beavs Bar owners, to create the Geelong Jazz and Blues Festival. At a time when festivals were being cancelled due to rising costs and lower crowd attendances, the new organising committee set about the challenge of creating a successful and sustainable festival, in the heart of Geelong.
